Iyengar Yoga Level Beginner’s Course Fall 2019 (Studio Yama)

Iyengar yoga is one of the foremost recognized forms of yoga in the world, which gets it’s name from reknown yoga teacher B.K.S. Iyengar. This course is taught in both Finnish and English. We will study the techniques of yoga poses (asanas) so that you will gain a deeper knowledge of your own body. We start from the very beginning of the Iyengar system. The course is great for both complete beginners with no yoga experience, as well as practitioners of other yoga traditions who wish to understand the Iyengar method and deepen their own practice.

Note! I am teaching a free example class open to everyone interested on Friday August 23rd from 5:15 to 6:45 P.M. at Studio Yama.

This course requires at least 1 year of prior experience with Iyengar yoga. This course is taught in both Finnish and English. Students who enroll for all 18 classes can make up any absenses in either my Friday Beginner’s Course or once a month with Anneli Rautiainen at Studio Yama.

Iyengar yoga is one of the foremost recognized forms of yoga in the world, which gets it’s name from reknown yoga teacher B.K.S. Iyengar. In this course we will focus on the flow aspect of Mr. Iyengar’s teachings. Classes are open to everyone regardless of your level of experience, from raw beginners to more advanced students.

Iyengar Yoga Level 2-3 Course Fall 2019 (Tapanilan Erä)

Students should have at least 2 years of experience with Iyengar yoga before joining this course. Students should have a regular inversion practice and be able to perform a head stand safely for 3 minutes. Please contact me if you have any questions (timo@timokurviyoga.com).

WHY YOGA? – Physiology (vol. 2)

WHY YOGA? – PHYSIOLOGY is second of three Iyengar Yoga workshop series taught by Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher Timo Kurvi.

Each workshop will be the time to talk about yoga, get to know to the subject from many different perspectives. We will dive into the THEORY of Yoga in a very down-to-earth way. So don’t worry if you don’t know yet much or nothing at all about yoga. This workshop is here for you to introduce you to YOGA.

Workshop include also physical PRACTICE of asana as we intend to answer the question WHY yoga is so good way to keep us healthy and happy.

The PHYSIOLOGY workshop is all about the effects of yoga on our physiology. Why there are yoga poses that ENERGIZE our system and then there are poses that COOL US DOWN.

We will look at the subject of yoga and physiology again from different perspectives as we intend to learn about meaning of yoga practice, asanas, variations, using of the yoga props so that we can build the practice that is just right for us. We will try to find out why and how yoga works? What does our unique PHYSIOLOGY acts and reacts in yoga practice?

The workshops are taught in both Finnish and English. You can sign up for the workshops individually or all together for a special price.

WHY YOGA? – MIND is the last one of three Iyengar Yoga workshop series taught by Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher Timo Kurvi.

AcroYoga Life Beginner’s Course Fall 2019

Learn to fly with AcroYoga! AcroYoga blends the wisdom of yoga, the dynamic power of acrobatics, and the loving kindness of healing arts. These three lineages form the foundation of a practice that cultivates trust, playfulness, and community. You need no prior experience with acrobatics, massage, or yoga, just a joyful mind.
